Social Events: Informal Functions
Along with the formal dances organized by the Social Directorate, the SRC
along with the various student societies and associations held countless
other events throughout the academic year. The Medicine Mystery Dance,
Law Cabaret, Winter Carnival and other functions all developed over time
to become important, even signature, events on the social calendar.
By the late 1960s many of these informal events even surpassed the formal
dances themselves in popularity. Many continue to thrive today.
