Greystone Theatre Players

Drama first began on the University of Saskatchewan campus in 1912 with the formation of the Dramatic and Literary Societies. Productions staged by the two societies, which later became Directorates in the SRC, included variety shows such as College Nights and the Men's and Women's "Lit's" as well as numerous plays and productions. In the fall of 1939 a department of Radio Drama was created with weekly programs being produced and in 1949 Greystone Theatre officially opened with the production of "Oedipus Rex."
