It isn't clear from this invitation what the disagreement between the "regiment of University students" and the "Epworth Leaguers" might have been. The Epworth League, a Methodist youth fellowship, was formed in the United States in May, 1889, and believed in missions through study programs. They normally discussed national and international issues at their meetings.
