The Glee Club was formed on 29 November 1911 with the intent to provide musical entertainment for students at the University of Saskatchewan, and featured an annual concert in the spring. With the formation of the University Choral Society in February 1917 the club lost its purpose on campus, and ultimately it did not survive many more years after 1917. The Glee Club was revived for a time in the early 1940s, most notably during the 1942-43 academic term, although its musical comedy revue was cancelled due to an outbreak of influenza and scarlet fever.
