Darrall (Duke) Collins' election platform advertised that famed Irish writer George Bernard Shaw had cabled his support for Collins' election to the SRC presidency. Collins ran on a platform calling for the disenfranchisement of all women on campus, and their relegation to more womanly duties' at home and in the kitchen. Time magazine picked up the story, which appeared in its March 9th and 16th editions.
