Greystone - 1963
Official crest for the Geology students' society, named the Ore Gangue. The Ore Gangue was formed on 18 January 1936 at the suggestion of Dr. J. B. Mawdsley, and was affiliated with the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in Montreal. By 1960-61 activities of the group included an annual field trip to Montana, a fall banquet, prominent speakers from the private and public industry, and a spring banquet in honour of graduating students. By 1964-65 the club was publishing an annual newletter entitled Concentrates. Members of the club were occasionally referred to on campus as "Ganguesters."
