Scope and contentThe file contains numerous materials on Aboriginal history in the area of present day Prince Albert National Park. Included are a report entitled "The Historical Geography of Prince Albert National Park: A Literature Review" by Robert C. Scace; a recipe card with handwritten research notes (presumably by Dr. Waiser) discussing environmental changes and their impact on Woods Cree history; a copy of a report from the Hudson's Bay Company sent to Park Officials regarding the history of the Company's post at Red Deer (Waskesiu) Lake and Montreal Lake, SK in the late nineteenth century; a letter, sketch, and copy of an aerial photograph of the Hudson's Bay Company post at Montreal Lake, SK from the Provincial Archives of Manitoba in response to a request by Dr. Waiser; handwritten research notes on recipe cards by Dr. Waiser discussing the fur trade, early residents, graveyards, and related matters within what is now Prince Albert National Park; a copy of a foreward from an unidentified manuscript by an unidentified author (apparently from the National Archives of Canada) discussing the Cree belief in Wee-sa-ka-chack; a copy of excerpts from an unidentified report (197?) discussing fauna (including beaver and fish populations), topographic, and geographic conditions in Prince Albert National Park; a copy of a report entitled "Guide to the Geology of Prince Albert National Park: A Story of Hills, Lakes, and Beaches" Miscellaneous Report #21 Issued by the Geological Survey of Canada Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, Ottawa.
