Scope and contentThis file contains an introduction of Ovide Mercredi by Edward John, Moderator. Mercredi's presentation focuses on healing due to the effects of residential schools and also due to racism in the daily life of Aboriginal people in Canada. Mercredi states that non-Aboriginals have received compensation for abuse suffered in non-Aboriginal schools in Canada, which is a form of racism against Aboriginals. Nicolle Wycotte, a 15-year-old student at Peter Skeen Ogden Secondary School in Canim Lake, thanks Mercredi for his presentation.
