JI discusses his experiences in terms of the conditions in Northern Quebec prior to his being part of the High Arctic Relocation, the advice of a police officer that he should "find a wife" as there were no women where he was going, his experiences upon being resettled in Resolute Bay including coping with cold, new topography and hunting conditions. JI also discusses work he did helping a mineral exploration company on Ellesmere Island, and how he always desired to go home but did not think it was possible so did not bother requesting it.
