Scope and contentFile contains copies of Federation of Sask. Indians publication "Our Way" from 1975 and 1976. Our Way was "a special supplement produced by the Sask. Indian newspaper." The 1975 publication was meant to educate Sask. Indians on the FSI's position on Treaty rights, Indian act, their constitution and the history behind their organization. It further discusses their present position and proposed changes to the Indian Act to make the department of Indian affairs carry out the original treaty promises. The 1976 Our Way was a copy of a report sent to the Standing Committee of Indian Affairs. They outline their position that Indian Act should reflect the "single agency" model it was originally intended to create. It is a comprehensive document outlining the problems Saskatchewan Indian people face and proposed solutions.
