Scope and content | File contains a presentations by SA and JA on their experiences during the High Arctic Relocation of the 1950s. SA discusses how tuberculosis spread through the community of relocatees at Resolute Bay, and alleges the government was indifferent to the health needs of the people. JA also states that his two sisters died due to a lack of health assistance provided by the government who relocated the people, and claims that he had to help in the delivery of a baby as a young man with no medical training or outside assistance. After questioning from the facilitator, previous presenter MP states that people at Grise Fiord did not face the same kinds of medical hardships due to different conditions and a lack of disease in the population. | |
