Scope and contentBound volume of typed copies of selected documents pertaining to the fur trade, the originals of which are to be found in the Q-Series (correspondence between the Home Government and officials in Canada) and the B-Series (Haldimand Papers) in the National Archives of Canada. Volume 1 contains a descriptive index, prepared by Arthur S. Morton, to the material which has been copied here that covers both volumes as well as to material in other sources, which include the Annual Reports of the National Archives of Canada, the Champlain Society's "Documents Relating to the North West Company", L.R. Masson's "Les Bourgeois de la Compagnie du Nord-Ouest", and the Ontario Historical Society's Simcoe Papers. The documents, most of which are correspondence between individuals, cover certain aspects of the 'Indian trade' and the North West Company, the Hudson Bay Company, and other trading companies, between 1763 and 1821.
