Scope and contentThis file contains the report: The Establishment of Reserves In Saskatchewan, prepared by Richard H. Bartlett for the Federation of Saskatchewan Indians in 1970. It is also available in the Law Library at the University of Saskatchewan. It is a comprehensive overview on the legal issues recognized by the government during the surveying of reserves in Saskatchewan. Most significantly, how the reserves were surveyed, and the terms and conditions built into the Indian Act regarding surrender. There is also a good review of pre-1970 Land Claims case law. Excellent resource.
