Scope and content | File contains a photocopy of N. Jaye Goossen's paper, "Missionary-Indian-Trader: The Triangular Nature of Contact in Rupert's Land." Argues that when missionaries came to North-West in 19th century, the Indians had already been in contact with Europeans for some time and had acquired some of their characteristics. As the missionaries sought to completely culturally change the Indian, they had to enlist the help of fur traders, thus creating a triangular relationship. | |
