Scope and content | File contains an opening prayer and opening remarks at the commencement of the sitting of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples at the Mah-Sos School Gymnasium, Tobique, New Brunswick, on Monday, November 2, 1992. Dr. Charles Paul commences the sitting by reciting an opening prayer followed by some remarks on the venue described as "the second largest reserve in New Brunswick, and largest among the Maliseet people of the Saint John River." Following this Commissioner Georges Erasmus introduces himself and Commissioner Robinson, followed by a discourse on the mandate and goals of the Commission, as well as its progress up until this second round of hearings. | |
