Scope and contentTwo sets of court transcripts from the Attorney General of Canada v. Jeannette Corbiere Lavell. The case deals with a perceived discrepancy between the Canadian Bill of Rights and provisions of the Indian Act. Mrs. Lavell wishes to retain her status as a registered Indian despite marrying a non-Indian, which the Indian Act stipulates results in a loss of status.
