Scope and content | This file contains newspaper articles relating to Lawrence (Laurence) Clarke, Chief Factor of the HudsonÂs Bay Company in the Saskatchewan District. Also included is the affidavit of William Charles McKay refuting claims that Clarke did not make any statements about using bullets against the Metis previous to the start of the Northwest Resistance. Also included is a photocopy of ClarkeÂs obituary from the Saskatchewan Herald dated 8 October 1890, and a typed biographical account of ClarkeÂs life. | |
