Scope and content | This file contains a presentation by Fenton Scott that first states: "The Prospectors of Canada and their predecessors have lives in harmony and mutual respect with Canadians of native ancestry for nearly 400 years. We do not consider these partners, neighbours and our fellow citizens to be Aboriginal peoples." Scott feels that Canadian citizens, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginals, "are seriously overgoverned." He describes First Nations participation in prospecting and mining by each province, and says if government policies were changed, more Aboriginals could benefit from careers in prospecting and mining. A prickly question-and-answer session with the Commissioners follows the presentation. | |
