Scope and contentA local history of the Prongua, Battle River, Lindequist, Drummond Creek, and Cleveland areas in the West Eagle Hills near Battleford. The discussion on "origin of Prongua" lists Metis man Goodwin Marchand as one of the first settlers in the 1860s and a successful freighter with 150 to 200 horses. Also includes some discussion on the 1885 uprising, and Joseph Price's employment as farm instructor at the Red Pheasant reserve. Prongua's namesake apparently had a good relationship with local First Nations being known among them as "Long Bearded Yankee." The remainder of the book discusses white settlers experiences.
