Scope and contentFile contains a photocopy of W. B. Fraser's article "Big Bear, Indian Patriot," from Alberta Historical Review [Canada] 1966 14(2): 1-13. Fraser attempts to correct the early portrayals of Big Bear as either a villain or a simple old man. He argues Big Bear was a great leader and a "great Canadian" who fought tyranny and injustice.
