Historical noteLoyal Till Death: Indians and the North West Rebellion was co-authored with Professor Blair Stonechild, head of Indigenous Studies at the First Nations University of Canada. The book was praised for its sensitivity in telling the stories of Indians during this turbulent time. It won a 1997 Saskatchewan Book Award for First Peoples Publishing and was a finalist for the Governor General's Literary Award for non-fiction.
Scope and contentThis folder contains transcriptions of interviews, interview questions, correspondence between Bill Waiser and interviewees, notes by Waiser and signed consent forms relating to Waiser and Blair Stonechild's book Loyal Till Death: Indians and the North West Rebellion. Also included is a booklet titled Elders of the Willow Cree / Reflections of the Past, published in 1993, that contains photographs and brief biographies of elders from the Beardy's and Okemasis First Nation at Duck Lake, Saskatchewan.
