Scope and contentThe file contains a duotang entitled "Self-Government Walpole Island Band Ontario" presumably compiled by an employee of the Department of Indian Affairs. The file begins with a memorandum highlighting the "experiment in self-government" performed by the Department during the 1960s. The copy is mimeographed and annotation indicates it is "one of very few copies." In addition to Indian Affairs sources the report includes several newspaper articles related to the Walpole Island self-government project.
