Scope and content | The file contains various photocopied documents, correspondence and notes on Aboriginal history in the area of what is now Prince Albert National Park. Included are a paper entitled "History Background of Waskesiu-Narrows Area" from the National Archives of Canada; handwritten research notes by Dr. Waiser; the transcript of a taped interview with Allan Nicholas of Weyakwin, SK conducted in 1983 on the subject of his residence in what is now Prince Albert National Park from 1917-18; a photocopy made by Dr. Waiser of correspondence from the Saskatchewan Archives Board relating to surverying of the Sturgeon Forest Reserve in the park area during the early 1900s; a photocopy of a paper on soil conditions in the proposed Sturgeon Forest Reserve; a photocopy of a map showing "proposed Forest Reserve North West of Prince Albert" n.d.; 2 memorandums on the proposed forest reserve; a typed overview of the proposed Sturgeon Forest Reserve from the Public Archives of Canada; a fiscal overview of the Saskatchewan Sturgeon National Forest for 1924-1928; a copy of a corresponding introduction and the survey of the Montreal Lake Indian Reserve # 106A performed in 1899 by A.W. Ponton, Dominion Lands Service. | |
