Scope and content | File contains a copy of a report commissioned by the Research Division, Centre for Community Studies, University of Saskatchewan, titled "Economic and social survey of Northern Saskatchewan interim report no. 1," by P. M. Worsley, assisted by H. L. Buckley and A. K. Davis, March, 1961. Topics covered include 1) A perspective of Northern SK; 2)Some themes in the historical background; 3)The population of Northern SK; 4)The pattern of Northern incomes. Also an epilogue called Work in Progress and maps and appendixes. It is a progress report on research that began on April 1, 1960. Worsley was an experienced anthropologist hired to assess and analyze the problems in Northern SK. He states the people there are in need and their welfare is the responsibility of all Canadians. A "tremendous opportunity for decolonization." | |
