Scope and contentA book by Marius Barbeau called: Indian Days on the Western Prairies, published by National Museum of Canada. Bulletin No. 163, Anthropological series No. 46 (234 p.). An extensive volume of anthropological history of the north west area of North America. Includes several images including pictographs painted on buffalo hides. Much of the material was taken from interviews done in the 1920s, 30s and 40s with Aboriginal informants and elders. The Aboriginal groups covered include the Stony, Cree, Blackfoot, Kootenay, and Blood. The nature of the stories range from oral history of intertribal battles to tribal legends to recollections of Indian schools. Excellent resource.
