Historical notePhotoengraving of the Sacred Heart Church and the residence of the missionaries at Kamloops (p. 3). Caption reads in French: "Eglise du Sacre-Couer, erigee en 1887; Residence des Missionnaires construite en 1889." Another engraving of the Kamloops "Indian Village" entitled "Village des Sauvages: Kamloops" (p. 9).
Scope and contentThe first 15 pages are in French: describes the district that the Wawa generally serves. Discusses important literacy work of the paper and use of languages in the issues. How the Indians Built a New Church; New Ecclesiastical Province - British Columbia (environs of the church in BC and brief history of its Bishops); Procession du T. S. Sacrament, Juin 1901. Some of the content which follows in French is very close to the first pages of English content in Issue 208. Next section is in English. Description of book by Rev. A.G. Maurice, "The History of the Northern Interior of British Columbia." Most of content then taken from March 1904 issue. Kamloops Present and Past (pages 19-32): describes history, economy and social activities in Kamloops. Change in atmosphere with coming of the railway. Pages 33-39 in Chinook shorthand, very similar to opening pages of English content in Issue 208; Indian Calendar for 1904-1905. "Early Church History: Trails of the Martyrs in Chinook" by Father LeJeune, 1904 (32 pages), includes two introductions and Parts 1 to 21.
