Scope and content | An explanatory letter and excerpts from Charles Longman's campaign diary. Longman was a private with the 90th Battalion, Winnipeg Rifles who was involved in the manhunt for Big Bear during the 1885 Resistance. His descendant A.D. Longman sent the excerpts included along with a letter of explanation to the Saskatchewan History staff, who presumably donated them to the Saskatchewan Archives. The diary contains a few brief notes on Big Bear and troop movements. | |
