Sinclair discusses his organization's background, its mandate, and goals. Sinclair discusses the general historical, cultural, and economic position of Aboriginal peoples in Canada. Sinclair states that "self government without land is something impossible. Autonomy is necessarily linked to having land and we believe that, to a large degree, the survival of the Aboriginal peoples depends on self-government." Following Sinclair's presentation Commissioners Dussault and Blakeney discuss the organization, its links with local Aboriginal people, and the idea of a land base with Sinclair. | |
