Scope and contentThis file contains a presentation by Charlene Belleau relating to the occasionally positive and primarily negative experiences of residential school survivors. Within Belleau's family, relatives had mainly positive experiences, included Belleau as she learned to cook, sew and do other household work. But with the majority of experiences being negative, the initial First National Conference on Residential Schools, held in Vancouver in 1991, laid the groundwork for making the federal government and the churches accountable for their actions.
