Scope and content | File contains a copy of Ken Hatt's paper, "Definitions of Metis Pertaining to Demographic Research: An Historical Perspective," presented at the Canadian Sociology and Anthropology Association Meetings, Dalhousie University, Halifax 31 May 1981. Hatt looks at the origins and uses of the terms for Metis people including: non-status, half-breed, mixed blood and home guard Cree.
