Scope and contentS.A, MacFarlane was an early settler in the Battleford area. He appears to have served as a telegraph operator on the Dominion Telegraph Line, and to have operated a telegraph station during the North West Resistance. The papers include correspondence pertaining to his role in the Resistance, and a book of clippings about early Battleford from the Winnipeg Free Press.
