Historical note | Ãmile Petitot (1838-1917) was a French Oblate missionary who came to northwestern Canada in 1862. In addition to serving missions along the Mackenzie River and Great Slave Lake, he undertook expeditions to the Yukon and along the Athabasca River. He published several works on geography, anthropology and Aboriginal languages. | |
