Scope and contentFile contains a photocopy of Philip Drucker's article, "The Native Brotherhood of British Columbia." It is a 1970s reprint of the original article found in: The Native Brotherhoods: Modern Intertribal Organizations on the Northwest Coast, by Philip Drucker, 1958, Bureau of American Ethnology, no. 168, pp.78-103. He describes the evolution of policy on Indians rights in BC and how it developed in relation to the Indian organizations. "The administrative atmosphere in which Indian acculturation developed in British Columbia was a somewhat peculiar one, differing in many respects from that in the rest of Canada."
