Scope and content | This file contains an extensive bibliography of sources pertaining to Aboriginal people and the law. The majority of the file was prepared by Linda Fritz for the Native Law Centre at the University of Saskatchewan. The bibliography contains sources pertaining to policing, treaty rights, treaty status, taxation, Hunting and Fishing, customary law, children, Metis and other areas. Its scope is international, and contains sources on Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Canada is covered the most extensively with specific bibliographies on James Bay, the Manitoba Sioux, the Metis and one bibliography prepared specifically for the Keewaytinok legal services office. Also found in this file is the U of S Law Centre accessions list, a newspaper article titled "Manitoba's Indians Face Lives of Violence," (Winnipeg Free Press, October 6, 1984), and a class outline for a senior seminar in statistical Native Studies research techniques. | |
