Scope and content | File contains a variety of documents pertaining to First Nations artifacts in the Prince Albert Historical Museum's possession, and general information. Included are correspondence between the PAHS and the Ontario Department of Education, and Ontario Provincial Museum regarding assistance in classifying artifacts, the description of an "Indian Chief Medal" awarded for serving the British Crown during the American Revolutionary War, an article from the Naitional Museum of Man discussing Aboriginal cradle boards, an article discussing a pipe ceremony (origin unstated), a diagram of a tipi and the symbolic value assigned to its various pieces, and an article entitled "History hunteres: family has collected thousands of artifacts from Saskatchewan's past" from the June 16, 2002 edition of "Rural Roots," a local newsheet from the Prince Albert area. The collection discussed includes a wide array of Aboriginal artifacts collected by the Clouthier family. File also includes an article from the July 1966 edition of "The Beaver" entitled "Pemmican and how to make it." | |
