Historical noteIn 1976 the Local History Department of the Saskatoon Public Library acquired the Leonard A. Hillyard Photographic Collection. He was one of the earliest photographers of Saskatoon, being active until his death in 1975 at the age of 84 years. He arrived in Saskatoon from England in 1907, and worked for photographers George Trott and Ralph Dill in those early years. He opened his own studio in 1912 which was closed during WW I. The period covered by this part of his collection is from the early 1930s to the 1960s.
Scope and contentTwo Indians in traditional dress, illustrating fine handwork, standing in front of decorated tipi. May have been taken during fair week in Saskatoon.
