Scope and contentThis file contains numerous newspaper articles relating to the Northwest Resistance. Includes the article The Rebellion of Fifty Years Ago, published 3 April 1935; and the article The First Riel Rebellion, published 10 July 1935. Both articles were written by Jean Ritchie Anderson and published in The Family Herald newspaper. Also contains a book review of Father A.G. Morice, OMI’s book A Critical History of the Red River Insurrection, giving “a sympathetic account of the troubles from (Louis) Riel’s point of view.” Also contains the article Military collector provides link with colorful era by Eric O. Burt published in the 1990s in the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix. The article is about Francis Farden, a [Saskatoon] military collector who owns a extensive of military memorabilia, including an authentic uniform from the Midland Battalion.
