The March-on-Ottawa:

In February 1942, 400 Saskatchewan representatives,
armed with a petition bearing 185,000 signatures,
arrived in Ottawa to ask for higher wheat prices. 232

The delegation traveled by train and elected
Jack Wesson to be their spokesperson. 233

“Never before had Saskatchewan’s problems been so thoroughly impressed on Ottawa in such orderly fashion. Of the delegation’s major demands, however, none was granted soon or as a direct result of the demonstration.” [G. Fairbairn, 1984, 150.]
