Historical Note: Chief William A. White retired
in 1938. He had served as fire chief for 32 years, the longest
of any fire chief in Regina 's history. After White's retirement,
City Council closed two fire halls and retired the last of the
fire horses. This was in lieu of granting firefighters one day
off out of every seven. |
