Historical Note: Many businesses were totally destroyed after the storm. However, one story of the cyclone shows how capricious the damage caused by cyclone/tornadoes could be. On the day of the storm, Mulligan's livery stable had 50 horses in its stalls. The storm picked up the building, which resided on South Railway Street , and slammed it down on the CPR tracks. Amazingly, not a single horse was injured when this occurred.
