Scope and content | Monotone postcard with sepia tone of binder teams working at Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Binders cut the grain, tying it into sheaves, which were then stooked or bundled by hand in bunches of eight to ten sheaves in an upright position to dry. Sheaves were then picked up again by hand and taken by horse drawn "rack" wagons to stationary threshing machines to thresh the grain. Four teams are working in the background, each team has four horses. Title from information note. | |
