Letter from Dr. Murray to Dr. G. Bateman, Dublin, Ireland, regarding the death of Reginald J.G. Bateman, Professor of English, who was was killed in action in France on 3 September 1918. Dr. Murray advised Dr. Bateman, Reginald's father, that a memorial tablet would be placed in the Assembly Hall, and a memorial volume of Reginald Bateman's lectures and addresses was planned. Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of a meeting of the Faculty of Arts and Science, held 23 September 1918. |
