Scope and content Letter from Dr. Murray to Dr. G. Bateman, Dublin, Ireland, regarding the death of Reginald J.G. Bateman, Professor of English, who was was killed in action in France on 3 September 1918. Dr. Murray advised Dr. Bateman, Reginald's father, that a memorial tablet would be placed in the Assembly Hall, and a memorial volume of Reginald Bateman's lectures and addresses was planned. Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of a meeting of the Faculty of Arts and Science, held 23 September 1918.
