1923: Presbyterian Theological College building completed

Larger Version

The Presbyterian Theological College was established in 1912 by the Presbyterian Church in Canada and the College became affiliated with the University of Saskatchewan. Until the completion of its own building, the College was housed in “temporary” quarters at 209 Albert Avenue, which included residence space for up to thirty students. Construction of, and fundraising for, the College building were both delayed by World War I but the structure was finally completed in 1923. In 1924, apparently in anticipation of Church Union, the college was renamed St. Andrew’s College and it became a theological college of the new United Church of Canada in 1925.
